HUMANITARIAN APPEAL FOR YOUTH
COMMING FROM ORPHANAGES
The Association is set up in accordance with the stipulations of Ordinance 26/2000 as well as subsequent Ordinance 37/2003 and Law 246/2005, all regulating the functioning of Associations and Foundations.
The legal framework of the Association's activities is also impacted by Law 116 of 15 March 2002 regarding the prevention and elimination of social marginalization; the Government Ordinance 1149 of 17 October 2002 regulating the enforcement of Law 116/2002 so as to prevent and eliminate marginalization.
OUR MISSION
To design and implement programs and strategies aimed at preventing and eliminating social marginalization of young people leaving placement centers, as well as cultural educational, physical and moral marginalization.
OUR OBJECTIVES
- To set up a Social Integration Center
- To set up a Social Information Center
- To implement leisure activities for youth
- To promote volunteerism
- To access structural European Union funds
- To facilitate underprivileged youth access to housing
- To facilitate underprivileged youth integration in society
- To develop durable partnerships with public authorities, public institutions, local, county and international bodies
- To promote the family
- To start a county campaign
Here are some of the activities we are envisaging so as to facilitate integration of underprivileged youth in society:
- provide access to temporary shelter
- provide food for a limited time
- provide help with buying transportation services
- career guidance and counseling
- identifying donors/sponsors
- fund-raising
- promote volunteerism
- implement education programs
- participate in workshops, trainings, seminars
OUR NEEDS
- a building/house/location to serve as: shelter for assisted youth, kitchen to provide food, headquarters to the association, information and counseling center for assisted youth
- Funding for monthly office supplies, utilities, phone, fax, salaries, perdiem for volunteers
- Construction materials: water-resistant paint, plaster, tiles, tools, accessories to bath/kitchen)
- Furniture: chairs, closets, beds, mattresses, pillows, desks etc)
- Human resources
- Office equipment: computers, printer, scanner, photocopier, consumables etc)
WHAT WE PROPOSE
We invite companies, public authorities and institutions, well-meaning citizens, national and international organizations to support our initiative to help a vulnerable group in our society. The initiative group of our Association wishes to make society better by reducing poverty among underprivileged youth by setting up a Social Integration Center.
We currently monitor 22 young people from different orphanages, who live in school dormitories in Ploiesti.
